Can I put a vodafone pay as you go sim in an iPhone?
I'm from america, moving to the UK. I'm cancelling my phone plan here when I move and I'll have a useless iphone. Vodafone sent me a pay as you go macro sim which would fit into my iphone 4. Could I use that sim and still pay as I go like 10 pounds or so as much as I need or would I have to pay for all the stupid mobile data plan etc etc. In the US you can't do contractless smart phones, so I'm wondering if it will work for this as I'm on a tight budget and would like to keep my phone without spending more than I want.
You just need a SIM cutting tool to make the card work in your iPhone. You can do it by hand but you have to be careful to cut it just right. Your iPhone 4 will also need to be unlocked.
Yes, but only if it's an AT&T iPhone (because it has to be GSM and only AT&T is in the USA) and you get AT&T to unlock it for you first. You also need a SIM of the correct size/shape; I think iPhones use smaller-than-normal SIMs. But if Vodaphone offers iPhones then that's probably not a problem.
P.S. Unlocking an iPhone isn't the same thing as jailbreaking it. Those are two different things which can be done independently.
That will work, but you will need to unlock your iPhone and you will need to cut the SIM down to size.
Yes. If it's out of contract, go to att and ask them to unlock it. If they won't, just jailbreak it WHICH ENABLES YOU TO UNLOCK IT FOR FREE and use it. The dude below me is an idiot -.

- Uk Mobile Vodafone with an American Pay as you go sim? I will be going on holiday to america in 5 days for 3 weeks. I currently have a Vodafone Iphone 5 and I want to take it with me but I'm a little scared about the bills I may rack up on the internet whilst using. I was wondering if I take my contract sim out in the UK and then buy a Vodafone pay as you go sim in america and top it up so that I'm able to use the internet. Would this work?
