Can I put my current verizon sim card in an iPhone 5c from target?

My current phone ( a sumsung galaxy three) screen won't come on anymore, so if I buy that phone- can I just transfer the sim card?

If not, can I buy a verizon/straight talk pre-paid phone and change the sims card?

You can buy a sim card cutter on ebay. You need to know what kind of sim the new phone uses. Then you can buy the correct sim card cutter.

Does the iPhone 5 come unlocked from Verizon so I can put in a different SIM card? Can you put a cut sim card into the old sim card slots? I have an iphone 5 and my sim card is cut down to fit into it.
