Can I record a video on my mac all day?
Basically I want to record my living room as I think we might have some "unwelcome guests" when we're out.
Would it damage my Mac Book Pro? How much HDD space will I need. I know I can save it as a Iphone file but it auto matically saves the Mov file into my movies folder.
Any help would be most welcome.

It depends what video quality you need. Record a minute. Take that size and multiply it by 10 hours or 600 minutes… We don't know how much available hard drive space there's…
Standard digital video requires 12 GB per hour, 10 hours is 120 GB. If that sounds like a lot, it is because your computer is not designed to compress live streaming video beyond standard digital video (DV). Yes your computer can work with already captured files in more compressed formats like MOV and Iphone, but it can't generate or encode them live like a camera does. Also unless your hard drive is media rated, it can't keep up with the constant loading and will have to stop and recalibrate for temperature rise after about an hour or so of continuous use.
Set your mac up to record to an external hard drive, set in a raid configuration. That will give you lots of storage and be cooler.
- Will Apple Retail Stores refill stock one day after launch day? If in any way an Apple Retail store runs out of stock after launch day of the new iPhone 6, is there any chance that by the next day there will be new stock already again? Or does sold out mean = sold out for a few weeks.
