Can I switch to an iPhone by putting in a sim card?
So I have a samsung galaxy s2 right now and it sucks. I'm on att with a contract ending in june. I was thinking of just buying an iphone 4s and putting my sim card in it. If you buy the iphone directly from apple, its unlocked to work with all carriers. Will this work? Should i do it? By the way I really need to replace the phone. I'm also not on warranty thanks
OK this will work as long as:
1. You currently have a smartphone data plan with your GS II
2. You buy a SIM Cutter off Amazon (you will need to cut your regular SIM into a Micro SIM
3. You get a paper clip (to open sim tray for iphone 4s
4.sell your gs ii on eBay
5. Buy an iphone 4s ATT on eBay
6. If you want to unlock it you can call up ATT and it will be free if you are off contract
OR
Go on eBay and buy an iphone unlock service type in your IMEI (press *#06# on phone dial)
they will be $10+ (its permanent- regardless of software updates)
Yes, you may still use your SIM card. You will have to cut it though with a sharp knife. Look for guides on how to do it on Youtube, you'll find a lot. IPhone uses microsim which is the same SIM card only that it's smaller. Find it in youtube and you'll see what i mean.
The iPhone 4S requires a Micro-SIM card. I'm not sure what SIM card the Samsung Galaxy S2 uses but if it uses the same one, then you may be able to switch the SIM cards. If it does not, I have heard that you can just cut the SIM card to make it smaller so it will fit in the iPhone or something. Research more about that bit online.

I took her iphone and put my SIM card into it. I then plugged it into the computer and registered it with itunes. Will this charge my AT&T bill? I don't want to pay for data yet? I didn't activate it through AT&T, but now I'm kind of worried it will. Will the phone work okay without calling AT&T to activate it?
- Unlocking iPhone by putting sim card in? My current network are unlocking my iPhone and they have sent me a message to say that to complete the unlocking please, restore from iTunes or put in a different sim card. If I use the sim card option, will it unlock the iPhone completely, or will it unlock it to the first sim card network I use in the phone? Because I may want to move network. Cheers

I have an LG eclypse right now (talk and text plan) and its dying. if i buy an iphone 4 that is locked to my current carrier (virgin mobile), will the SIM card work in the iphone, without me having to buy a data plan? my sim card is standard sized but apparently you can just cut the extra plastic off around the sides and itll work in the iphone.
- Putting my sim card in used iPhone? So my mom has an iPhone 4s, and she is going to upgrade to a 5 tomorrow. I want her 4s. Can I take my sim card out of my 4g android phone and put it into the 4s? I have a data plan and everything, and we both have verizon. Will this work like I won't have to set anything up with Verizon? My cousin did this and explained it to me but i just want to make sure I have this right?
