Can I switch to Verizon with a contract?

Okay so I'm currently a Sprint customer and I want to switch to Verizon. I have an iPhone 5 with Verizon already that I got on eBay. Can I just switch to Verizon without making a contract for 2 years? I don't want to get a contract because I'm waiting for the new iPhone release and I don't want to be tied down to a contract when it comes out hopefully this fall. Sprint data coverage sucks in my area and I really want to switch but if I can't I will just wait I guess.

What Verizon Wireless service options do not require a term contract?
You can activate service without a term contract if you:
Activate with a Verizon Wireless compatible device that you already own.
Pay full price for a new device.
Activate Prepaid service.
Note: Some promotions may require a term contract.

  • Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?
  • Is there a way I can switch to Verizon edge even though my 2-year contract isn't up? My poor iPhone 5c has a cracked screen and some of the letters are really hard to use with the screen! I never got Applecare or any type of I've had my iPhone for a 18months (1year & 5months) and I was wondering is it an option to upgrade early and participate with Verizon edge plan even though my two year contract isn't up? I've heard of something called the early edge and is that still available with Verizon or no? (Please NO RUDE COMMENTS!)

I just ordered the iphone 5 from AT&T and then discovered straight talk and was wondering if i could switch to it even though i'm in contract. If so please let me know how to go about doing this. Will i still have to pay AT&T if i do switch to straight talk? Will i get my deposit back that i gave to AT&T when i signed up? Please let me know all details! I really want the unlimited data from straight talk that i won't get with AT&T!
