Can I text the US from Canada with an unlocked t-mobile iPhone?

I have an iPhone 4.It's an unlocked t-mobile phone. I'm from the United States but I'm heading over to Canada later on. Can I still text people in the US from Canada for free? What can I do if it's not free?

Not free
call tmobile for prices

if its not free get a txt free app… And you can txt while your on Wi-Fi

I think you can, t. But you can get credit from one of canda, s TCS, s. So long.

If your phone is on an American system, you can text, but will be charged roaming fees, typically 50 c - 75 c per outgoing message. You will pay $ 1.00 - $ 2.00 per minute if you dial USA from Canada.

For anything less than that, you have to buy a package from your provider. A typical is $ 40.00 for 60 min air time and 150 messages.

If your phone is unlocked, you can always get a prepaid SIM card in Canada which makes your calls less costly. They are available "everywhere".

The downside is that you get a new Canadian telephone number with that. Don't forget to tell your friends.
