Can I trade in my iPhone 4 at the Apple Store and get money off it?

I want to get the rose gold iPhone SE in 64 GB. I'm going to start babysitting over the summer so hopefully by the time high school starts I will have a working iPhone. If my parents got me a phone it would be a Samsung but I hate Samsung. They say apple is too expensive and if I want an iPhone I have to get it with my own money. The iPhone 4 that I was talking about hasn't had a SIM, so it basically is an iPod. Do you guys know if I can trade it in at apple and get money for an iPhone SE?

Apple doesn't buy old iPhones, although they'll happily accept it for recycling.

The trade-in value of any iPhone 4/4s at stores which do accept them is now so low as to be almost worthless. Using it as an iPod and as an emergency reserve phone if your main one is lost/stolen/broken is of more value than the few dollars you might get for it as a trade-in.

But you might get a bit closer to your goal if you go to a used electronics store such as CEX and trade in that phone plus any other unused electronics you have against a used iPhone such as a 5s 64GB or if you can find one, a used rose gold SE. The 5s is functionally almost the same as an iPhone 6 so will also be almost functionally identical to an iPhone SE and will look almost exactly the same as an SE.
