Can I trade in my iPhone 4S for the 6S?

Ok obviously not trade in but get store credit to get the 6S.

My parents got my little brother the 6S last year and I have a 4S. I want the 6S but my parents just bring up irelevant stuff.

If not, I'm just gonna post random stuff I own on Craigslist and sell stuff even if my parents don't want me to.

For a 4S, likely not. That's a much older phone than the 6S as you know and it's not going to be worth much.

Depends upon the retailer.

Well youre taking a risk selling stuff on craigslist because you don't know who youre selling to. Someone may try to rob you or do god knows what. It's just not worth it in my opinion. But apple is no longer offering contracts for the phone. So if you want an iphone 6, youre gonna have to pay 700 for it which to me, is absolutely rediculous and believe me when i say that i like apple stuff and i'm kind of into having technological gadgets around me. If youre willing to spend 700 dollars on a phone that, really the only difference is the looks, compared to your phone. Then go ahead. I have the iphone 5. I was going to get the 6 but the cutoff point to me wouldve been 300. Maybe 350 and i'm 19.

Some service companies buy back cell phones, and the amount you can get varies depending on condition. With an iphone 4S you will get substantially less money than newer iPhones because they are locked to either GSM type service or CDMA service, newer phones all use sim cards and can be unlocked for either type. If a provider uses one type service and the phone is another, you will get a lot less, normally just the recycle value.

If you decide to sell it on craigslist or trade it in, be sure to log out of icloud and out of find my iphone, otherwise it is basically a paperweight to anyone that buys it, worth minimal value, can't be activated, also remove your passcode.

As far as selling your other belongings, is it really worth it? Just like the 4S, in a few years, the phone won't be worth much because it will be outdated, then you won't have anything of value, if the service is in your name and you are 18, try checking into payment plans to purchase the phone for the full cost, usually adds about $35 a month to your bill, normally more affordable and eliminates a service contract

It depends upon the retailer
