Can I transfer a deactivated Verizon iPhone 4 to use under T Mobile?

So I just got a new iPhone and my old iPhone 4 has been deactivated. I'm with Verizon, so non of my phones have an individual SIM card, neither do they have any SIM card slot. I really want to give my old phone to my boyfriend since he desperately need a tech boost in his life but his family is like completely against any money spending activity.
I'm just wondering if I can somehow hack my old phone so it no longer requires a pre-assigned carrier, then my boyfriend can bring it to T Mobile (where he and his family plan belong to) to re-activate as his own phone? I know T Mobile usually requires a SIM card and he has one too, so I'm not exactly sure how this should work and if he'll be able to keep his current number. He can afford all the data plans and whatsoever, he just can't go and get his own phone under his family plan or his parents are gonna attack his face for spending money. He can't afford individual plans (since they're A LOT more expensive) nor can he break away from his family plan without getting attacked on the face.

No because the phone is cdma one and doesn't have a sim card slot and the only opinions will be is taking it to Metro PCS but it will have to flashed in order to be used on their network or taking it to Verizon to get it reactivated
