Can I turn on a iPhone with bad ESN?
I have bought a iPhone from my friend (sprint company) and she reported it lost but got it back. So can I turn the phone on?
No, she would have to do it since it was hers. Nothing you can do otherwise.
So the way this will work is when you wish to turn this on or use it with sprint they will see a flag for the stolen/lost phone and ask you where you got it from. This will go 1 of 2 ways. They will ask you who was the original owner of the device and you can provide them with the proper name (of the account holder it was under) and they may release the phone for use then or they will reach out and contact the person it belonged to while your on the phone or on hold and ask them to verify the phone was recovered. The proper thing to do was for your Friend to call back in and tell them the phone was found and they would unflag it from stolen.
- Verizon iPhone 5 comes gsm unlocked so if the esn is bad can you still use gsm? I was wondering sense the iPhone 5 for Verizon come GSM unlocked, if the ESN is bad can it still be used with GSM networks? Please let me know thanks
- Is buying a iPhone with Bad ESN bad? I want to buy an iPhone 4 or 4s but it says bad esn. I'm not going to activate the phone to any provider. I just want it for Wi-Fi for home use. Is it bad to buy it or okay?
- Does a bad esn in America still be a bad esn in places such as Canada? If I buy an iPhone with a bad esn I know it just basically an iPod but will the bad esn (Sprint) be followed when its shipped to Canada and would I be able to use it with a different carrier since there's no sprint in Canada?
- Can you unlock an iPhone 5 with a bad ESN? I'm shopping for an iPhone 5 to use because I'm a new assistant and I would like a business phone. I also would like a good phone with an even better deal and found cheaper iPhones on eBay but they have bad ESNs. I know what one is but can I unlock the phone and get rid of that problem?
