Can I update my iPhone 3GS anymore

I have an iPod and a iPhone3gs I can't update my iphone to iOS7 so does that mean I can't update and I have to upgrade

IOS 7 only comes to those who have iPod 5, or an iPhone 4, iPhone 5s, or iPhone 5c. Since you have an iPhone 3, there will no longer be updates for your current phone unless you upgrade.

Not necessarily. Yes the 3GS will not get iOS 7, but it should still support apps for a while.

For example the iPhone 3G started with iOS 2.0 & updated right up until iOS 4.2.1 but only stopped being supported for apps about iOS 4.3 & that was after a while as well.

Also Apple recently made a change that allows older non-updated iPhones to download the last working versions of apps for them to use.

  • Why doesn't my iphone 3 work anymore after ios update? It recently showed on my iphone to update.So, I did and now my phone just flashes the apple sign every 5 seconds, then blank screen for 5 seconds and so on. I tried holding the reset for 10 seconds and no luck. I now have a feeling this update is for only the new iPhones. If that's the case, I really wish it didn't show up on my iphone 3. I guess that's apples way to buy new products from them? I really hope someone can help.

On my old iPod touch the videos would load fine but on my new iPhone they won't even play 10 seconds before it freezes and won't play! I reload the video and app and it still won't play, I even deleted it and installed it 10 times and still the same problem! Please help I really don't know what to do (plus these videos are checked to be able to watch on mobile devices)!
