Can i upgrade to the iphone 5s without cancelling my contract?

I have an iphone 5 and i would like to get the iphone 5s but verizon said my upgrade isn't until december of 2014. Which makes no sense because i have had this phone for almost a year and should have an upgrade available earlier than that, anyway can i get the 5s without buying out my contract? What are my options?

You can buy a new phone anytime and keep your contract, thats not an issue. They don't care what phone you use, they only require you to finish the same contract you are on regardless of what phone you use. They won't give you another deal on the new phone though until your contract is up, you would need to buy the phone outright and just use it on your current contract. Your iphone 5 is probably worth at least $300 on trade in though, if not more…

Yes. You can buy the iPhone for full price when you don't qualify for an upgrade.

iPhone 5S with no contract:
16GB - $649
32GB - $749
64GB - $849

Upgrading to the latest iPhone when you are in a contract has never been an easy task.

What I would suggest is unlock and sell your iPhone 5 even if it's under-contract (unless it's not bought after January 2013) You can sell it on Flipsy, Ecyclebest or SellCell.com. You can get good valuation of your iPhone 5 depending on your negotiation and the condition of your iPhone.

I guess this is the best way to get iPhone 5s.
