Can I use a 5V 1A power supply instead of a 5V 2A one?

My tablet charger is kaput. I have an iPhone charger (same voltage range) and Volt, but only gives 1A whereas the tablet's charger is 2A.

Could I use the iPhone charger? Besides perhaps taking longer, would it harm the tablet?

It won't harm your tablet. It will just take longer.

It may harm the charger by overtaxing it's current capacity.
