Can I use a locked at&t iphone 6 on cricket wireless?
I know that I can use an unlocked iphone 6 and buy a cricket sim card. Can I buy a locked iphone 6 from at&t for $199 hand have them unlock it and then use it on cricket? I heard that there was a law passed saying that phone companies have to unlock phone if they meet certain requirements. Or can I buy the iphone 6 for $199 and simply put the cricket wireless sim card in it without unlocking it because they are on the same towers. I don't want to spend $699 for an unlocked iphone 6.
Sorry but the $199 phone requires you sign a 2 year contract with AT&T. You don't really think the price difference between a locked and unlocked phone is really $500, LOL.
Kale, you will be paying for BOTH an AT&T 2 year plan and the Cricket Wireless plan to do what you want to do. AND you would have to still PAY to UNLOCK the AT&T phone FIRST, before you could use it on Cricket's Network.
Yes same towers, didn't software settings (APNs) with would have to be changed as well to work with Cricket after it was unlocked from AT&T. Oh and one more thing, you would have to pay the full price of the phone on AT&T or pay the ETF (early termination fee), otherwise you leave without paying for the phone or the ETF, and AT&T will blacklist your phone for non payment, and Cricket won't be able to activate the phone on their system. So you will be paying $699, one way or the other before you can use that phone on Cricket.
If your lucky your cricket store still has iphone 5c on closeout for $299 full price or the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is still under $130
You will pay at least $649 for a new iPhone 6 but if you buy it from AT&T you can pay it in installments with $199 down.
(I switched to Cricket because I bought a Oneplus One android phone and for my wife's phone I'm likely to pay $749 for 64 gig plus $100 for apple care I would like insurance more than apple care but the premiums and deductibles have gotten so I'm not sure it is worth insurance over accident protection that doesn't cover loss of apple care)
I like the predictability of Crickets throttle at max data over charge more after max data of parent company AT&T
- When will the iPhone 5 ship to Cricket Wireless in Chicago land areas? I'm wondering when will an iPhone 5 ship to a Chicago land location. I've been looking for one for the longest ever since the iPhone 4/s shipped out. Therefore, the other models never came to Chicago. ): If anyone has any information about it, can you please respond to this question. I'm desperate for an answer.
- What is the cheapest way to get a iphone 6 on cricket wireless? Unlocked iPhones are expensive so I was wondering of there was a cheaper option to get an iphone on cricket. I would rather not use eBay or Craigslist because I'm worried about getting scammed. I also don't want to use the online unlocking codes. I basically just need to know how to get an iphone on cricket without paying the $699 for an unlocked version. I just want to see all my options.
- What happened to the iPhone SE on Cricket Wireless? I was planning on buying an iPhone SE on Cricket Wireless, which was available when I was looking a month ago. I went to buy it today, and it no longer appears to be an option. Anyone know what happened and if it's coming back?
- Verizon Wireless vs Cricket Wireless? On Friday I'm going to get the iPhone 5 and I have an option between those two carriers. So which is better. Please give information about both.
