Can I use my iPod iTunes account for my iPhone?

I have an iPod touch, and I'm wanting to buy and iPhone from virgin mobile pre-paid. I have apps on my iPod that I paid for and would like to transfer all of my stuff onto my iPhone. I don't see why I would need an iPod if I have an iPhone. Would I be able to transfer all of my stuff over and use my iTunes account for my iphone?

An Apple ID is the email address you use as a login for just about everything you do with Apple, including using iCloud to store your content, buying songs from the iTunes Store, and downloading apps from the App Store.

When you set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can use the same Apple ID for iCloud services and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. You can also use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You will get all the benefits of iCloud whether you use the same Apple ID for iCloud and store purchases, or different IDs for each.

Yes you can. You can use the same account for all your apple products. All applications, videos, songs you purchased through that account can be synced to all your apple devices

Yes everything you have through your itunes and apple ID account will sync to your new iphone and your ipod will also stay synced as well, though you could delete all of its contents and sell the ipod if you want. If you do decide to go for virgin mobile you can use this reference coupon for $25 dollars off your first months bill https://refer.virginmobileusa.com/IYUM7f

hope it all works out!
