Can Iphone 5 parts be separated?

My Iphone 5 is stolen & I had reported to police too. I wanted to know that can the parts of iphone be separated and then sold to some other shops? Would my Iphone be tracked? I had heard that iphone tracking is quiet good, is it true?

so the bad news is. Yes it can be sold as spare parts. And most people who do this for a living also know about tracking and imei detection.
