Can iPhone get malware from safari?

I got a pop up saying something but I didn't read it, cause I instinctively closed safari and deleted history and website data. Could I have gotten a virus? How would I know?

While it is possible for an iPhone to get infected by malware, it is not likely. What you saw is a very common scareware ad. You do not have malware on your phone. Generally malware tries to hide itself, not tell you it's there.

Whilst it's possible to have an apple iphone to obtain contaminated through adware and spyware, it's not most likely. That which you noticed is really a common scareware advert. You don't have adware and spyware in your telephone. Usually adware and spyware attempts to cover by itself, not really let you know it is presently there.
