Can PayPal access my bank account after removed?

I have a buyer who purchased an iPhone from me and they are asking me for 1/5 of the payment back because the item isn't as I described it in my listing. I don't feel like he should be complaining for any reason as my iPhone was in mint condition.
I got a notification that the PayPal funds of the full amount will be in my account tomorrow. Once they are in there and I transfer them to my bank account can I remove my bank account from PayPal? I don't want them to be able to take my money back when he requests that 1/5 refund.
Pretty much what I'm doing is not going to issue him any kind of refund, close my eBay account and close my PayPal account too. Will PayPal be able to find my account info and take what they want?

If your paypal accesses your account via your debit card then just cancel the card saying you lost it to the bank and order a new card, the details on your new card will be different so they won't be able to take the money if you cancel the card before paypal try take the money…

If your Paypal access your account directly through your bank account (normally verified accounts) using your account number and sort code instead of just your card then you'd have took the bank if they could return the payment for you if paypal took it… I'm not sure if they'll be able to do this or not, there's likely to be a fee though

I would recommend contesting it through Paypal and Ebay. Otherwise you run the risk of you personally being banned for life from both services. Plus they can try to collect on the money even after the accounts are closed and place it on your credit record.

The instant the buyer opens a case, Paypal locks the funds and you aren't transferring them anywhere, bro.

Of course! Just because you removed the info doesn't mean Paypal purged it from their servers. Since you obviously have nothing to lose and are happy to open and close accounts on a daily basis, you could close your checking account as well. You'll find out what a smart move that was when Paypal turns you over to collections and destroys your puny credit rating.
