Can people access my location because of my iphone? - 1
I don't currently own an iphone, but I'm looking into it once the new iphone 5s comes out.
I'm trying to decide what to do, because I'm incredibly uncomfortable with the possibility that people could see where I have been. I'm not talking about apple itself, but just anyone who wanted to see (like a psychopath! )
I read an article which made me think about this, so I'm curious as to what everyone thinks/knows.
this was the article: http://www.csmonitor.com/Science/2013/0513/Can-your-iPhone-s-digital-footprints-reveal-your-physical-location
Please help me! I don't want people being able to find my house or follow me places!

What can I do to be sure nothing is able to track me via where my Wi-Fi connects? I know about turning the app to "location off" but is that enough?
Only if location services are on.
Iphones are computers with the ability to make phone calls too. If you have the GPS on, some people could track you. Turning it off also hampers some of the functions of the iphone. You should stay with a basic talk and text phone if you are going to be paranoid.
All you have to do is turn of location services for any apps that send locations, such as Facebook, and don't use the check in feature.
I believe all Smartphones have a type of "Locations Services" that you can adjust. I have an iPhone 5, and on it you can either turn "On or Off" the "Location Services" for certain Apps.
Smartphones can connect to GPS Satellites ( & Wi-Fi) [above called "Location Services"] and enable you to locate restaurants and stores 'near by'. Also, certain Apps like Facebook (App) allow you to "Check In" and the FB Post will show locations where you are at currently. Smartphones will automatically attach a "location tag" to photos that you take, if "Location Services" is "On".so that if you share the photo, others can simply hit 'location' and a map will appear and show where the photo was taken.
The solution (I believe) is simply going into the Smartphone's Settings and turning "Location Services" "Off" for individual Apps and Sites.
You said you didn't want anyone to follow you etc… Well, thanks to the internet, many online databases already have most of us listed by either our phone number (land line phone), past telephone book listing, or by a physical address that is online. (See Link below)
- Tech geniuses. Is there a way to fake your iPhone s location? *specifically on find my friends /location services*? Wondering if anyone can help me either 1) freeze my iPhones location at a specific spot or 2) completely fake the location (without jailbreaking my phone) I'm required to share my location at all times to my parents and need a night a feeedom.
- Is there anyway to spoof your location on life 360 or change your gps location on an iPhone? I've tired just about everything to not be tracked on Life360 and it will notify if you turn it on airplane mode or turn off your location settings. Also can't delete the app need help. Or is there anyway to change your gps location in an iPhone without jailbreaking it?
