Can't get Wii to hook up to wireless internet?
I live on my college campus and I'm trying to hook it my Wii up to the dorm Wi-Fi. I tried both the password secure (which is what my laptop and iphone use) and the non-password secure Wi-Fi (which is for people visiting campus mainly) but the Wii won't hook up to either of them. I've made sure the security type and password are correct for the secure connection. Every time I try I get a code 51330, 51331, or 51332. The Nintendo support site only says to keep retrying the password or check security type, which I've done multiple times. I know console devices can hook up to the internet since multiple friends in my dorm do it, but they can't figure out why my Wii won't connect. Can anyone help?
Added (1). I know for sure they've hooked xboxes up, but I'm not sure if my friend has hooked her wii up. If that's the problem is there a way to fix it?
Have they hooked their Wii's up to the Wi-Fi or do they have different consoles hooked up? If I had to guess I'd say the Wii is hooking up to the Wi-Fi correctly then when it goes to test the site it gets redirected to your university page asking you to login, but the Wii's not smart enough to know that and assumes it can't connect and disconnects you.
- Wii console and hotspot connection? Why won't my wii pick up my iPhones hotspot? I go into wireless setting and do a search while my phones hotspot is turned on… But it won't turn up when I search for Wi-Fi options. I even tried to plug my phone into my wii using a USB? My hotspot works on my laptop and my Mac…
- Wi-Fi thru iphone want use with wii? I have Wi-Fi thru my iphone as a hotspot and it works great with my other devices but is not with the wii. It will notice it as an option to select but for some reason is not recognizing my security password. Is there something I'm missing? I go to setup a new wireless device find my iphone in the list of options but when put in password it gives me an error message. Any ideas?
- Why won't my iphone hotspot connect to my wii? I have an iphone 5 and I keep trying to connect it to my Nintendo wii with the hotspot, but every time I input my password and I keep getting error code 51330 which means my password is wrong, but it's right! I know it is, I have put it in several times and changed it. Whenever I do something or mess with settings the error code changes.
- Should I get a Wii U even if I have a Nintendo Wii? I can't really decide on what I want for christmas and I have lots of money saved but I do not need anything expensive such as an iPhone but I'm giving the opportunity to get the new wii u for christmas if I'm that sure if I want it! But the question is, is it worth getting if I already still have a Nintendo Wii?
