Can't sign up for Instagram on my iPhone 5?

I've been trying to sign up for Instagram on my iPhone 5 but when I complete the details page and hit done it says "The IP address you are using has been flagged as an open proxy. If you believe this to be incorrect, please visit http://help.instagram.com".

I can't find anything in that link to help me and have no idea what an open proxy is. Went round to a friends and used the wireless at her house (which needed a password) and it still didn't do anything. Took it to the apple shop and they couldn't help either.

Got a friend to create an account for me so I could skip the sign up process and just log in off my phone but it says the username/password is invalid, when we're sure it isn't.

to be honest there have been alot of problems since the latest update.
delete it, turn your phone off, re download it.
if its still not fixed then just leave some feedback on the reviews telling them your problem and just wait till they update it again.
trust me its not just you, i think its pretty glitchy right now

  • Will he know if I sign into his Snapchat or Instagram? I got my boyfriends password for his Instagram and snapchat, and I'm already fully aware I'm being sneaky as heck. I'm curious to know that if when I sign into his snapchat and/or Instagram from MY iPhone. Will it log him off on his phone every time?
  • Why can't I sign into netflix on my iphone? I can sign into it on the actual website but not on my iphone app or xbox app. I have the correct e-mail and password and i even tried changing the password twice and its still saying incoreect information. This is pissing me off, why can't i sign in?
  • Why can't I sign in from my computer? I can use my account only from my cell? I can use my account only from my iphone. But for some reason every time I try to sign in from my laptop the same question keep coming which I never added? "What is your youngest child's nickname? Added September 18, 2009"? What can I do about it?
  • Why can't I sign into SKYPE from my IPHONE Yesterday, my iPhone 4 broke so I got a new one (also an iPhone 4). Before I got the new phone, I was able to sign into Skype from my iphone. Even now I can sign into Skype from my computer, but the problem is that I can't sign in from my new iphone -- this is a problem because it is the only way I can call my deaf grandmother from out of the country when I'm not at home. So why can't I sign in from my iPhone?
