Can water get inbetween my iPhone 4s screen and the Zagg invisible screen protector?

I have had a Zagg invisible screen protector on for about a month now, it was professionally installed and it worked great. Now I dropped my phone in a swimming pool a few days ago and I had my phone in rice for 8 hrs and then when it was still unresponsive I put it in rice for another 8 hrs. It works however on some parts of the screen I can't click.
I was wondering if it is possible that their is water in between the screen protector and the screen? There's a yellow halo sometimes when the screen is on but when it is off everything looks fine. Could water inbetween the protector and the screen cause the unresponsiveness?
I could always get the shield reinstalled for $7 so removing it would not be a huge problem. However I'm currently on vacation so I would have to wait almost 2 weeks.
Has this happened to anyone? I can't find any answers online. Could it possibly be water stuck in between the screen and the protector? Any help would be much appreciated.

Water can get in between the Zagg screen protector and the phone screen. Although, Since you said the phone was unresponsive at first I think it might be internal. Take the screen protector off of the phone and try tapping then. I would suggest doing this As soon as possible because if there's water trapped between the two glass panels it can get inside the phone.

When i took it out of the place it got wet, my screen protector looked like it had water in it? Is there any possible way to take it out? I have my phone in rice and its been 1 & 1/2 days that it has been in there. I'm going to take it out tomorrow. Also, I had put my phone in recovery mode and put it in the rice. When I take it out do I turn it on normally or is there a specific way to turn it back on?
  • Rugged/waterproof iPhone 5 case compatible with screen protector/back film protector? Was wondering if there's any iPhone 5 case out there that is compatible with a screen protector and/or a back film protector on the iPhone itself? I understand cases like Lifeproof need you to remove your screen protector so it can maintain it's waterproof abilities. Was just looking for a case that can work both ways.
