Can you buy an iPhone from version and then have free data?

I really want a iPhone but I don't want to have a data plan and have to use Wi-Fi and I don't want to pay a high bill every month

I'm assuming by version you meant verizon.see if they have plans without data and make sure you get a phone that can pick up Wi-Fi.once you have the plan without data and a Wi-Fi-capable phone then as lo9ng as you have a hotspot you can connect to then you should have free data as long as youre not the one paying for the hotspot.

No you can't do that. All Verizon smartphones requrie a data plan in order for you to have it. They don't give smartphones a plan unless you get data. I have been a member here for many years so I would know. If you get a multimedia phone (not considered a smartphone) then you pay $10 and get data that is very small but no Wi-Fi with it. If you get a smartphone the cheapest data plan they sell is $30 which is great for most people and plus you get Wi-Fi with it.

Also- You can buy an iphone and just not have service connected and then use it with Wi-Fi but then it would be more like an ipod touch since you don't have calling and other iphone features available.

You can't set it up as a single line, however, say you were to be on a share everything plan, you are payinig $40 a month for that line's access to share the talk, text, and web, but you don't have to use the data. You can turn the data off, under settings, general, cellular, enable data.
