Can you flash an iPhone that has a bad ESN?
I just got an iPhone 4 from a friend and it has a bad esn with sprint. It's CDMA. Can I buy a kit an flash it to straight talk or net10? I know it can be done but can it be done even tho it has a bad esn?
Net10 and Straight Talk both forbid iPhones from CDMA carriers (Sprint and Verizon), on top of the fact that the bad ESN will preclude it from service in the USA ever again.
- What does it mean if an iPhone has a bad ESN and can I buy it? My iPhone 5s was stolen and Verizon as usual is not taking any pity from anyone nor would they offer me a replacement at a discount so if I want the replacement I would have to buy it at full price. I looked online on ebay and saw some iPhone 5s that were really cheap selling but when I look it says bad ESN. I read somewhere that you can't activate this with your provider is that is the case. Is this true and what exactly is bad ESN on an iPhone?
- Verizon iPhone 5 comes gsm unlocked so if the esn is bad can you still use gsm? I was wondering sense the iPhone 5 for Verizon come GSM unlocked, if the ESN is bad can it still be used with GSM networks? Please let me know thanks
- Is buying a iPhone with Bad ESN bad? I want to buy an iPhone 4 or 4s but it says bad esn. I'm not going to activate the phone to any provider. I just want it for Wi-Fi for home use. Is it bad to buy it or okay?
- If I flash a bad ESN iPhone 4 to cricket will I be able to fully use the phone? Thinking of buying a iPhone but can only find bad ESN ones. Does it matter? My carrier is Cricket so I was just going to buy the phone and flash it. Will I be able to use the phone like an iPhone should be used?
