Can you 'over charge' the iPhone 5?

Hey guys so forums I've read have been 50/50 so I just wanna ask on here to be safe. Usually I leave my phone charging over night so for a fair few hours and I'm wondering if the battery over charges or if it stops sending electricity through the charger or? I just don't wanna ruin or damage my iPhone that's all. Also what effects does charging it for so long have if any?

Iphone battery is lithium, so its made for recharge. Meaning as long as you charge it at set time, it'll work best. You can't really destroy your phones battery, unless you leave it underneath a pillow or somehow the phone gets exessively hot. If you do overcharge it, it'll just take a few days before it gets back to normal.
So don't worry about.

It's not bad for your phone, my sister charges her iphone 4s all night so it should be the same for i phone 5

Cell phone batteries are usually lithium-ion which has a memory alloy inside to recognize when it is fully charged. How well this works is the real question.

No you can't overcharge an iPhone.

Some phones have problems with this, Iphones do not have this problem. I do it all the time on mine and no issues.

  • Why is my iPhone copying the same video over and over? So I took a screen recording earlier today and when I went to send it, there were about 50 of the same video. I thought alright i'll just delete them. So I did. And they returned. I now have over 300 of the same video and it keeps copying itself.
  • Why does Netflix keep pausing and playing over and over? I'm using it on my iphone 4. And I have checked my connections over and over I've uninstalled reinstalled, signed in signed back and everything else that the troubleshoot website has recommend. And it's gotten annoying. It didn't start doing this as much until I updated the app before the ios 7 release. I'm currently using the trial for netflix and my laptop doesn't work so I can get it on anything but my phone.
  • My iphone rebooting over and over? My iphne has been reboting itself. Its on for a few minutes but it just boots it self again. I tried every method but non of them work. I need the method for iphone 3g ios 6
  • My iPhone 4S keeps vibrating over and over for no reason? It does it like every 10 minutes for about 30 seconds. It's almost like getting a notification every second. I'm not getting any notifications though, it's just vibrating for no reason whatsoever… What's wrong with it?
