Can you swap the iphone home button with another iphone?
My dad wants my old iphone4 although its broken for the button to go on his but i have messages on their that he might be able to recover that i don't want him to see, an i can't delete them obviously because its broken (water damage)

You should be able to. I worked for Sprint and you can pretty much swap any phone. Now as far as the button go you can try to see if a technician can fix it for you if not then they may have to send you another phone.
Yes, iPhone 4 buttons are all the same so you can switch them without problem but it takes a lot of time to replace iPhone home button. It is more complex process than you might thing.
