Can you take an iPhone SIM card (sprint) and put it into another iPhone and it will work?

My brother completely destroyed his phone. It's sprint. Can I buy an unlocked phone? Or do I have to buy a phone from sprint?

You need either a Sprint iPhone or an unlocked iPhone. Yes, you can put your sim card in it and it'll work.
