Can you transfer iphone data to another iphone not store bought?
Was thinking of buying a new iphone since I still have a 6 and it's kinda beat up. If I buy a new iphone from another source like ebay or gazelle is there a way to transfer the iphone data to that device? And if I do transfer do I have t let my cellphone provider know I changed phones?
Usually simply keeping the same SIM will achieve this.
Very simply.
Connect the old iPhone to iTunes on a host computer and back up the phone choosing the full back up option and including backing up the apps. Then select the option to repeat the backup to iCloud; it won't be quite as comprehensive but will keep all the main settings. That ensures you have a failsafe backup.
Then make sure the replacement iPhone has been factory reset by the last owner so that it's totally ready for a fresh setup. Make sure it's fully charged and then plug it in to your host computer and start iTunes again. Select the "new" iPhone in iTunes and then choose the option to restore the last backup from the old phone to the new one.
The only things which will not be restored are any apps which might be incompatible with the new phone, and any music which you ripped from CD or other sources to iTunes. They're not restored for copyright reasons: if you still own the CDs then you re-rip them, if you don't then you no longer own the right to play them.
Apple users are such clueless children.
