Can you update an iPhone without updating apps?
I want to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 but the garage band app needs an update and with the new update it says it will require iPhone 4s or later to run it. I spent $5 on it and I use it a lot so I don't want to lose it but I also want to update the software on my phone.
If it says it requires an iPhone 4s to run then do not update the application. But you can update to iOS 6 without any problems. Just make sure you do NOT update the GarageBand app.
- Will updating my iPhone apps affect my phone speed as how updating the Operating System (OS) will? Currently I'm using the iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3 I know if I were to update my phone to the latest OS I may notice some slowdown on my phone's performance, since it may not have the "muscle" to handle certain functions. Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?
- Update apps without updating ios? I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS with IOS 4.1 so can't update the software to IOS 6.0 in iTunes, else the phone is permanently locked. I want to download some apps including whatsapp but they keep telling me that they require IOS 4.3 or higher. How do I go about installing these apps, especially whatsapp? any cydia tweak or something?
- In the middle of an iPhone update and my iTunes won't recognise my phone in order to continue to update. Can I stop the update now? Neither the computer nor iTunes are recognising my phone and I've been working on his for an hour, I want to stop the update so I can go to bed, how can I do that? It's only at the stage where it has a symbol on the screen of the iPhone cable linking to iTunes
