Can you use iMessage based on cell reception?
I have an iPhone and it only has 1g internet a month so can i use cell reception, (which is what's used for texting) to send iMessages? Like if i turn off Wi-Fi, will an iMessage still send from my phone? Its an iPhone 4 32g (storage)
No, imessage requires an internet conenection (Wi-Fi or cellular). You can still send normal sms messages

2.No, if you're not running on wi-fi or data (what you call "internet"), imessage won't work… If you are imessaging another iphone without any source of internet, it will "send as text message", if you are imessaging another ipod or ipad, it will "send to email address"
- Will cell reception get better after I get an iphone5? I currently have a very cheap cell phone that I got for free more than 2 years ago which is not capable of 4G. Now, I'm considering upgrading to an iphone 5. Will that improve the reception and chances that I will get less dropped calls and other problems?

- Iphone4: no reception anywhere and can't make calls or text or RECEIVE any I'm on orange… my iphone 4 has no reception ANYWHERE i go. I can't receive calls or text or anything but i can connect to internet and i can download and play games… I've restarted my phone. I took out the sim and put it back sometimes i get reception when i restart but then i can't make calls or text or receive anything… help? Where can i get this fix? Do i need to change my sim?
