Cases the offer good protection for iPhone 5?

I currently have an otter box defender on my iPhone 5 but I'm getting sick of it. It's a year old and I need a change plus it's starting to rip and get scratched up. I was going to just get a new otter box exactly like mine but a different color. But otter box doesn't offer many color choices for this type of otter box and I don't like any of the other colors. I feel like it might be stupid to buy another otter box exactly the same and same color as the one I currently have. So to get to the point… Does anyone know of other good cases that will protect my phone very well if I drop it onto like cement? I looked into Life Proof cases but they are really expensive and the only thing extra they offer different from otter box is that it's water proof… But I don't really plan on dropping my phone in water anytime soon… So any other ideas?

Otterboxes and Life Proof cases are ridiculous and they don't do anything they promise. I mean, they're supposed to be damageproof themselves and you've already said it's starting to rip!

I'd suggest going with a silicone/rubber case. That's what I have and I LOVE it and it's protected my phone over and over again! I'm a bit of a klutz and drop my phone all the time, and these silicon cases I got wrap the whole way around the phone and create a nice little bumper on the front to in case I drop it face first! Even better, they don't impede my ability to USE the phone! Lol

So plus to silicone/rubber cases: They're functional, stylish, extremely protective and above all CHEAP!
These are the ones I bought for myself, I'd highly recommend getting a case like this instead of one of those insanely overpriced cases.
