Computer not recognising iPhone 4s?

So I tried to connect my iPhone 4s, just to sync some music, no different from the last time I did it (when it worked fine) and its not being recognised.
My usb cord is working fine, when I plug it in, the iPhone bleeps and charges, but there's no response from my laptop.
All my usb ports are working, I've tested them with other devices, all fine.
I've restarted my iPhone, erased all data and restored it, restarted my laptop, reinstalled iTunes, no luck.
I've checked the device manager, there's literally nothing related to apple anywhere under any category. I've tried taking screenshots on my iPhone to get it to recognise as a camera, but nothing works. I've tried everything I can think of.

Get it to a repair shop, but first get another usb cable and try again, light devices work fine when usb cable has a common problem of plugging out the wires inside, but for iphone it won't work so well, so get a new usb cable, and make sure you don't hold on to the wire when plugging the usb in or out of your laptop or iphone, because that's when it stops working when wires become loose.
