Computer won't detect iphone 4 driver

Okay, I have tried every suggestion in the book and on the net! I have an iphone 4 and just bought a new charger from Dollar Tree for it. It works just fine on my windows 7 but it shows it is charging in my ibm laptop but the computer will not detect the apple driver. I have tried all apple support forums and nothing is working. I'm frustrated and feel like throwing my damn laptop across the room! I'm that frustrated! Please help me! The usbs are working but it won't detect the phone. I even tried reinstalling and restarting itunes and restarting the computer. It worked just fie before i got the ios 7.3 update and before i bought the charger.

Use a different USB port. If that doesn't function restart your machine. It can also be the cable

Connect you device to PC.
right click on "computer" properties >device manager
locate your apple device in "unversal serial bus" right click on it >select uninstall.wait for it.finish the installation.
now reconnect your device.
hope it helps because its mostly like resetting the device drivers.

It may be the cheap cable.

Generally the cheap stuff ONLY have enough wires for the power, and nothing else. If you want it to work as SYNC cable (i.e. USB to 30 pin) you may need to buy a separate sync cable.

Downgrade to the old OS, then try it again.
