Confused about my ex girlfriend and I?

So my ex and I broke up back in May it was pretty much mutual and we saw each other a few weeks later as friends and hung out and that was the last time we have seen each other. I had met her family and we got along even took her sisters with us to the movies once. I gave her little brother my old iphone so he wouldn't be the only one in the family without one

But now next week she and I are teamed up in this race I invited her to do. And I'm nervous/wondering how it's gonna go. She's been telling me she has a boyfriend now but he's not anywhere on her Facebook like I was.

She's a party girl and I'm not. But she's known that since the beginning. She said she wanted to break up for a few simple reasons… She pretty much wanted me to better myself but I didn't want to listen. But lately I've started working out(in a purposeful attempt to get her back) and I've tried to dress better(I dressed like I didn't care at all. Which I didn't).

But then there other things like me eating better and being more money conscious, going back to school that I've been doing and it wasn't to get her back, or at least not consciously trying to do that.

And it's small dumb stuff that I'm starting to do that reminds me of being with her. Like today I was getting pizza saw the pineapple and ham and thought of her(it was her favorite) and I got it or me getting chicken instead of my usual barbacoa at chipotle. Which I did because chickens cheaper

I just find myself becoming more how she wanted me?

Obviously you are subconsciously changing to get her back which isn't needed. The only way to be 100% happy in a relationship and as a person is to be yourself. You say you are trying to fix things about yourself like how you dress, your financial situation, and your body image but it seems as if your doing it only to impress her. You say she broke up with you so you could better yourself but you can't better yourself if your not being yourself. So i suggest be yourself and you can keep those positive changes like being healthier and more financially aware only if your doing it for yourself and no one else. If you truly want to get her back or have a better relationship with her, then better yourself for you only and be straight forward with her if you want to be in a relationship with her again. Hope everything works out.
