Connecting iphone to ipod using iMessage?
If I have an iphone with a data plan and unlimited texting and also have an ipod touch 4G, can I link the ipod to the iphone so that any texts I receive on my iphone will go to the ipod? If so, what information is required of me?
Yes you can. Go into the settings app and tap on messages and then enable iMessage. You need to also make sure that the Apple ID you use for your phone is the same one that you use for your iPod. This can be changed in the iTunes & Apps Store section of settings. If everything is set up right, you should receive an email from Apple saying that iMessage on an iPod Touch 4th Generation was just set up using your ID. If you wait about 5 minutes and the email doesn't come, then you can have someone send you an iMessage and try it out anyway. Sometimes Apple is a little slow with the emails. This will also link everything else to your iPod. So if you read a book or open a web page on your phone, you can then pick it up on your iPod. It should also link apps and music so when you purchase on one device, it will appear on the other.
- Why is my iPod touch using my iPhone's phone number for iMessage? I don't know why it started doing it but my iPod says it's using my email and phone number on iMessage but I don't get why or how that's even possible. Please explain this.
- When you send an iMessage from an iPod to an iPhone, what does it look like? I recently just bought the new iPod touch, 5th generation. I set up iMessage. If I send a message to one of my friends using iMessage to their iPhone, how does it appear on their screen? Like does it say it's from my email address? Or is it already under my contact #? (I don't have an iPhone) haha thanks for helping out!
- Ipod won't connect to Wi-Fi after connecting iphone? I have an ipod touch 5 that was connecting to my home network with no problem. Today i got an iphone 5c and after connecting it to the network, my ipod suddenly won't connect anymore, so i have no Wi-Fi on it. I tried everything possible: resetting the ipod, resetting network settings on the ipod, turning the router on and off, and nothing works. Is there any way to fix this? I really need the ipod to be able to connect.
- IPhone can't send iMessage to iPod touch user with iMessage? At random times, whenever I try to iMessage my friend who has just a iPod Touch, where you type in the message will say "Text Message" instead of "iMessage." is there a way to fix this so it will always send as a iMessage instead of Text?
