Could he be mad for what I said?

So one of my friends (that I like) drinks and he said he's trying to quite. He knows I hate drinking and he texted me last night saying "I just took a shot for my friend in the marines" and I said "huh?" And then he said "it was one 1 lol don't worry" and I said "oh. Sorry I'm just against it and think you're better then that." And he read it cuz we both have iPhones so I could see that he did, and he never answered do you think he's mad at me? Should I text him hey or ask if he's mad? He's also not over 21. Is he trying to quite cuz he likes me? But then why would be be taking shots.

You have every reason to be mad about his drinking. Don't chase him with a text or any other devise. I hate drunks. Stand your ground.

It depends on how he thinks about your reaction… Quitting can be hard. It takes time and a lot of self control: just remember that. I think he might've thought: 'One shot couldn't hurt.' If he's quitting for you, it seems like he does like you. He's changing himself for you to be a better person!

Guys like to impress his friends so this isn't surprising that he would take a shot. I do think he wants to quite for you. This is gong to be a process and so you have to wait and support him. I think he was probably just frustrated that he was trying to be honest with you and you shot him down. Just try to help him quite but stay supportive not matter what.
