Could I hang/mount my iPhone 5 to my RC Plane to take videos?
TL;DR Super Cub DSM + iPhone = Amazing video -or- a broken plane and phone?
So I have had this RC Plane sitting around doing nothing for a while, and I have been wanting a drone but not its pricetag, so I thought maybe I could compromise by having the plane carry a recording iphone. You see what I'm getting at? Drone-like shots with stuff I have laying around already. The plane is a Super Cub DSM, so the main concern I would think, is how it would handle a 4 oz phone on it.
If it is possible to optimize the rotors or whatever the right phrase is to allow it to smoothly fly with the added weight and size, any suggestions on how to best attach the two?

Yes it will be fine as long as you mount it correctly, I have done it.
I would think the real problem in mounting would be the need to turn on the camera and swiftly put the phone on the plane - you would want to mount to the bottom of the plane, edge on, below the CG point. Possibly one of the skeletal belt clips that I would not wear might work.
If the plane is fuel rather than electric, I think you have a pretty good chance of messing up the phone if exhaust coats the outside of the plane in normal use.
