Could I use an old iphone 4 without a contract?
My friend will be giving me her old iphone and i wanted to use it as an ipod touch. This iphone 4 was used on verizon and was wondering if i needed to get a contract for it to work? Also if i restore it to its original state would i need to have a contract?
No you don't. Just charge it and sign up for an apple account
No you won't. Basically a contract for iPhone means a carrier-locked iPhone (the iPhone can only read SIM Cards from a certain carrier). Its basic function is no different from iPod Touch 4G.
However, since I've never used an iPhone without a SIM Card, I don't know if an iPhone could be booted without a SIM card. If it really need a SIM Card, you could always insert an expire Verizon SIM. Restoring it won't be a problem as it will be recognized by itunes as an usual iPhone.
- Is it better to buy a iphone with a contract or without a contract? Because with a contract you have to pay monthly fees $60 - $100 and without a contract you pay more for the phone without the monthly fees
- If I buy an iPhone 4s from verizon, could i use it without activating it with a plan? I'm looking to buy a used Apple iPhone 4s from amazon, but i already have a phone and will only be using it as a replacement for my ipod 4. So what i need to know is will i be able to use the phone (download apps and music and stuff) without getting a plan? I realize i will not be able to use the calling, texting, and data.
- I could get the iPhone 5s in like 3 weeks but I could get the 5c tommorow? I could get the 5s in a few weeks and I love it but I also really like the iPhone 5c and I could get a great otter box case for it or get the 5s but that would take 3 more weeks. What should I do?! And the 5c is still great right? Because a lot of people still have the 4s. And please don't say wait for the 6 because I'm not
- How to use my old contract iPhone? I have got an old iPhone that was on contract but have upgraded since, I want to be able to use the iPhone again on pay as you go, how would I do this?
