Going to another country. Can I use my cell phone there?
I have an iPhone (at&t). I was wondering if I can still use my cell phone in another country (in Central America) for texting. I wouldn't be making any phone calls. I know this might be a dumb question but I really don't know.
Most plans allow "roaming" which is use abroad, however it can be depending on who you're with be more expensive than getting that said country's local plan - who are you texting, in the same country or isit international back home? Look at the price plans of your provider vs theirs to who you're texting.
If you've iPhone then you can just do the iMessage whenever you're in Wi-Fi range or use other apps like Whatsapp, LINE, Viber, Evolve SMS to call or text other people. If you want just plain texting then you've to have the International Roaming activated which will cost you a lot.
