Difficulty transferring voice memos from iphone to mac?

I went into itunes and did a sync. It didn't help. I tried dragging and dropping the files, but the files would not move. I tried doing File then Add To Library, but the files didn't move.

It doesn't matter if I go through itunes, just want them to get on the mac somehow.

Added (1). Thanks Iqua, I tried to create mp3 version. But I'm only able to do that for the songs already in the Mac library. When I click on the files from my device, I clcik File then Create New Version, the option that says Create MP3 version is not highlighted. It's not letting me access those files or do anything with them.

Try changing the file to an mp3.

Do you mean that you want to transfer iPhone voice memos to Mac? As I knew iTunes only allows you to sync voice memos from Mac/PC to iPhone, not the opposite way. To transfer voice memos from iPhone to Mac, you can try AnyTrans for Mac which allows you to transfer voice memos from iPhone to PC/Mac, to another iPhone, and vice versa.

Apple does not really have any plan set up for you to copy voice memos to the computer. They thought the voice memos were serving their entire purpose by being on your phone. They didn't think there would be a time that you can't listen to the memos from the phone.

To copy files other than photos and videos from an iPhone to a Mac storage, you need non-Apple software, so try either of these…

There's no need to change or convert the format. IPhone voice memos are.m4a file format, which is actually the same as MPEG-4 with digital rights management options. You can simply double-click the.m4a file and it will play in QuickTime Player X or iTunes, depending on your preferences settings.
