Disabling GPS tracking on iPhone?

I just got the Family locator service for all of my family's verizon phones. My son and daughter both have iPhones and I would like to know if they have any way of disabling the tracking. If they can, I would like to know how to re-enable it.

Yeah, all they have to do is disable location services, but then they lose the ability to use maps, most social network check-in functions, and the ability to find their devices if they lose it.

You can call the Verizon customer service, or go to any location where they sell phones & devices (store). Any of the techs can walk you through the steps, and show you how to check it. Tracking is usually found in phone settings. Not sure exactly what menus to get to that, as I'm not familiar with iPhones. When you speak to a Verizon rep or tech, just ask them about the family locator features, and if they can be manually disabled on the device itself… And if so, if you can restore it or 'lock' it to 'on'.

Getting information straight from them is much more reliable than here, as different phones, plans, and companies offer different features.

  • Why Can't I Turn Off iPhone Without it Disabling? Every time I turn off my iPhone, when I turn it back on it says something like "iPhone disabled, connect to iTunes" or "iPhone disables, try again in 5 minutes". Is there a way to fix this? I know how to un-disable my phone, but I don't know how to turn it off and on again without it doing this.
  • What's the longest amount of time you have seen or heard of an iphone 6 plus disabling? Like you know when you put the wrong password on the lock screen and it says disabled, how long have you seen i guess any apple product disable?
  • What GPS tracking iphone apps (cycling and running) can be used without a 3G signal? I have been using both endomondo and mapmyride for my running and cycling. When I came to track my mountain biking neither of the apps would start a workout because I was out in the sticks with no network connection. I wasn't expecting any live maps, but was expecting either one of the above to be able to track my coordinates by GPS, to be uploaded later. Shame really because I like the apps. Do they actually works without a network signal and I'm missing something?
  • What app can I use for gps tracking? I want to track my husband's locations cuz I think he's cheating. All the apps I look at tell me he needs the app on his phone too but he doesn't have an android or iphone. So what app can I use to secretly track his location of his phone? One that works and preferably cheap or free.
