Do all iPhones have a beauty mode?
I always see those girls on instagram that take flawless selfies; their skin looks smooth but you can still see the details, for example, defined eyelashes. I also like the fact that the face doesn't look too distorted. I've been wanting to buy an iPhone because of those reasons, but every time I'm about to buy one and try the camera, it's not like I thought. It makes the skin look textured. I went there with a couple of friends and it enhances their skin texture as well. They don't look as textured in real life and it's not a flattering look. The pictures don't look like I thought they would. I don't really know how the camera works but I don't find any skin smoothening options. Do all those girls use facetune or is there an option on the iPhone I haven't found yet? I really want to try it but I don't know how they do it or how it works and I want to figure it out before I spend my money. Also, which android phone would you recommend that takes flawless selfies?
Photo editing, special apps
Plenty of apps on the App Store that can do that, if you get one of the newer iPhones that have TrueDepth then you can start messing with many different parts of your photos to give you similar effects
No. It's all apps. The most popular one - Snapchat filters.
The only iPhone that can do this is the iPhone XS. And Apple got rid of this feature in the iOS 12.1 update due to complaints about how the feature would turn on automatically without the user's permission and was unable to be turned off. So, beauty mode is no longer a thing on that iPhone or any iPhone
As with any other talent or skill,
you Must learn at least Some basic principles of photography
in order to get the best results under various conditions.
In other words, cameras don't often take good images
without a knowledgeable (or Very lucky) operator pressing the button.
No iPhone has a "beauty mode". What you are seeing is likely the result of photo editing & photo filters.
It's not the phone. It's the user.
It's not the phone. It's the user.
First off, the really good images that you see on Instagram were NOT taken with a smartphone. What photographers do is take photos (like the ones you're referring to) with a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a high-quality lens. They then edit the image using Lightroom and/or Photoshop (along with 3rd-party filters/apps) to get the final look. They then email that image to themselves. They open the image using their phone and then upload that image to IG.
So it's a real waste of your time and money to try to get a smartphone that takes those "professional" looking images that you see on Instagram because they were never taken with smartphones in the first place.
And if all of that was not enough, you then have to factor in that the person taking the shot had the technical and artistic skill (skills that takes many years to acquire) to make such an image in the first place.
The problem that you have is that using a smartphone for photos of people, especially portraits, produces ugly images. Why? Because all smartphones use wide-angle lenses. Wide lenses produce a lot of distortion that makes people's chin, nose and forehead bulbous and much larger than the rest of their face. You can see just how an attractive woman can be made to look awful in this link: For referenced, the focal length of the lens in your smartphone is about equal to the 24mm position used in the link to Stephen's web page.
If you then consider that the great shots on IG are being made with DSLRs and with lenses that are not only far more optically superior, but are of a much longer focal length that actually makes the person look much more beautiful in the image than they do in real life. There's no "beauty" mode in any smartphone, but you can beautify your subject by using a focal length of anywhere between 85mm~200mm. Using a smartphone with a 24mm~28mm lens just makes people look awful. This is why you will never get those great shots using a smartphone.

- Should I purchase the new iPhone 5c or buy a kindle and beauty products? Okay, don't laugh. My birthday is coming up. I'm 21 years old and I've never had my own sell phone. Although, I'm running out of makeup products and I need to purchase some kindle books for my upcoming next semester online.
- Iphone 5c stuck in recovery mode and Itunes won't recognize the phone, or that its in recovery mode? I tried updating to IOS 8 and it has the connect to itunes screen. Well i plugged it into my computer and opened itunes and got no notifications or anything. I really don't know what to do. I've seen online something about DFU mode… But i don't know what that is, is it jailbreaking? Will it erase my phone? Also. My phone is not backed up so help please.
- I have four pairs of apple iphones and all have them have stopped working? Every single one of them has stopped working so that I can only hear music in one earphone and not the other. I can't contact apple to complain because apparently you have to pay to do that! Do other non apple earphones work on an ipod? I don't want to pay like £25 for a set of earphones that is going to break in a week when I can pay £2.50 for a better pair that isn't apple.
