Do I have to get a plan if I buy and iPhone 4S?
I'm wanting to get a iPhone 4 but I don't really text or call that often. So I was wondering if I could still get an iPhone but still not have to have Wi-Fi to use the Internet? And to be honest another reason I want an iPhone is because of all of the cute iPhone cases, hehe.

- Is it possible to buy an iphone and NOT have to buy the plan? Is this possible and how? I'm trying to convince my parents to buy me an iPhone, but which one do I buy and can it be used without the plan for $40 or $30? All my friends keep saying different things and iim afraid the store will just sell me the expensive one.
- Is it cheaper to get a new iPhone on a plan or buy it unlocked and add a cheap plan? I can either buy the phone for $250 and pay a monthly $80 plan with data for 2 years or purchase the unlocked phone $800 and pay $30 - $50 a month - I might not get data but it wouldn't be a big deal to me, I'm just trying to find a deal thats not ridiculously expensive cause I can't really afford too too much right now. Which would be better?
- If I have a phone with no data plan, and I buy a used iPhone? When I go into the AT&T store to get my SIM card put in will they MAKE me buy a data plan? Because I don't want one. And do iPhone 4's take the tiny SIM cards or the bigger normal size SIM cards?
- If I buy an unlocked GSM iPhone will I have to get a data plan? My dad doesn't want to pay for a data plan but I have enough money to buy a gsm unlocked new iPhone 4s. I want an iPhone but he won't pay the data plan. So I thought if I could buy it unlocked and get a phone text and call plan that would do me fine because everywhere I go has Wi-Fi home, school, even mcdonalds and I wouldn't need it. My dad bought me 3g/4g hotspot for trips. So if I buy it unlocked will I have to get a data plan?
