Do I need to get the battery on my iPhone 4S replaced?
My phone completely ran out of battery and an hour later I charged it but its not charging! Do I need to get the battery replaced? If so do I go to my phone company (Verizon wireless ) or do I go to an Apple store?
The exact same thing is happening to me! I have to put my cord under my phone and move it all around to get it to charge and I have to send it away to get fixed. It's actually a problem with your phone. If not. Just get a new battery and outlet. It works better that way rather then sending it away and waitin for a loaner phone
This is going to be a pretty long answer but I'm going to tell your exactly what you need to do in order to resolve the issue.
First, try a different charger. Find a friend with the same phone and see if it will work on your phone.
If that does not work open iTunes on your computer and plug the phone in and see if iTunes can discover the phone.
If not, put the phone into recovery mode by holding down the home button and then plug it into your computer.
keep holding till a screen with a USB cable, arrow and the iTunes symbol pops up.
Let it go and your computer will tell you that it has discovered a device In recovery mode. (if that doesn't pop up you will have to get a repair done on the phone).
after recovery mode finishing reinstalling the software you will have to reset your phone the same way you did when you first bought it.
You will come to a screen that asks you if you want to set it up as a new phone or if you want to restore it from a back up. Make sure you choose to set it up as a new phone.
Once you are done plug the phone back into the charger and let it sit for like an hour.
After an hour check the phone, if it is still not charging call Apple at 1-800 MY APPLE.
Tell the call director that you need to be transferred to iOS Technical Support.
When you get the tech advisor on the line explain what is going on and what troubleshooting steps you have already tried. You can tell them you talked to an Advisor already (that's me) and tell him that the Advisor said that you needed to have a diagnostics report ran on your phone so you can check the health of the battery.
He will send you an email, open it on your phone and click the link. That sends the report.
The report shows the condition of the battery, the last time you charged it, how long you spent talking on it since the last charge, how long it was just turned on and not being used, how many phone calls the phone has dropped… And on and on and on.
Anyways, if the batter needs to be replaced he will be able to tell immediately, if the battery is in good condition you will probably just need to get a replacement phone. As long as you bought the phone within the last year, or if you purchased APP or AC+, you will be able to get the phone replaced for free.
Get a few cheap charger at Walmart in a check out line for 4 dollars! It could be the chord. Don't go to apple till you've tried a new charger cause they charge you a lot of money for simple stuff.
Doesn't seems that the battery has been expired, as it was working fine just an hour before. Is it your charger that created the issue? How old is your phone? If it's under warranty then you can easily claim for the fix. But I would rather recommend cross-checking it with an another charger. May be that works, sometimes the charger or the port stops working. Hope you find this useful.

- When my iPhone 6 screen is replaced by apple, will the home button be replaced as well? Ever since I updated to iOS 9 on my iPhone 6, the home button has been totally unresponsive. On top of this, my phone was recently stepped on and the screen was shattered. I plan on paying the $109 to have the screen replaced from apple, but does that replace the home button too? I've heard that when the front screen panel is replaced, so is the home button/touch id.
- When going to get my Iphone replaced, what do I need to bring to the Apple store? I got my iphone a little over two months ago and the ear speaker has stopped working properly. The phone is under my father's name, and he took it to fido to see what can be done and they said to take it to an apple store. I'm planning on going myself but since the phone isn't under my name, what do I need to bring with me?
