Do i need to have itune to setup my new iphone?
Not really, iTunes is useful but not a must have, but depends on what you want to do with it. You could still use your iPhone without using iTunes just fine, what you might need is an internet connection to set up your iphone. ITunes is helpful for transferring music, videos or other multimedia data. It is a faster way to transfer stuff from your computer easily. ITunes is a must have if you want to allow other programs to have access to your iPhone. If for instance you ruin or mess up with your iPhone software, ITunes is needed to install your software ios, into your device. That is the only way to recover a bricked iPhone. If you need to update your software via computer or even if you want to jailbreak your iPhone, ITunes is a must.
No you just need Wi-Fi.

- I need iphone 4s setup My friend just got a new iphone4s she was wondering if she was to turn it on and let the battery drain, without connecting to itunes or going through the setup process, if the seccon time she turned it on (after the battey draining) that the setup process won't be there. Will the setup process still be there? Is it worth draining the battery? Or should she not drain the battery? Does it make much difference?
