Do I really need a protective case for my iPhone?
I've owned a iPod for 5 years and iPad for 2 and had no protective casing of any type and I'm pretty rough with both. Throwing it on a desk, twirling it in air just because I'm bored, etc. They are in perfect working condition despite my abuse.
Now I'm getting an iPhone and people are saying I have to have a case for it to protect it. I don't like cases as it makes it so thick and big in my pants pocket.
Do I really need a protective case for my future iPhone?
I think it depends where you work and what environment you are usually in, I'm an electrician so I'm on a building site a lot of the time and its dusty and dirty so I have to have a protective casing, but If I worked in a clean environment like an office or in school I wouldn't bother using a case.
I have heard several horror stories of people accidentally dropping their iPhones and sending cracks across their screens so I suggest you get a protective case. It's a very expensive electronic so why wouldn't you want to make it last as long as it can?
You don't have to have a case, but getting a good quality one would come in handy if it accidently was dropped on the ground. The case would protect the screen from getting shattered which has happened to my friends who didn't have cases.
If you don't mind whether your phone looks bashed or has a shorter life, then technically you don't need a case.
However, when you spend a fortune on a beautiful piece of kit, surely you want it to look good and last!
Buy a lightweight case or sleeve. Have a look on Amazon, there's loads of choice.
I would strongly recommend it. I've never had cases for my phones, never thought I needed one. Cracked the screen and side of my iphone 4 in less than 4 months of having it and it all could have been avoided if I got a case. A lot of my friends iphones are *** up because they don't wear cases, iphones aren't the most durable phone.
If it's the iphone 4s, yes i would. The glass is pretty delicate, so it does smash kind of easily. The screen of my iphone 4s smashed into pieces when it fell out of my uniform pocket, and landed on a lino floor. Having said that when i got a replacement 4s from my mobile company, that one fell out of my side pocket, landed on concrete and suffered not so much as a scratch, so my previous one could have been a dodgy batch… However I would still get a case, irregardless of whether you drop them or not - they look beautiful, but they're not overly durable. You can get so many pretty cases for iphones so you're bound to find something you like. I have mine in a bright pink polka dot flip case with matching iphone stylus, and i do love it. It also keeps it looking good as new.
- Your opinion: Best protective case for an iPhone? It seems the Otterbox is the most go-to brand but does a Griffin case do just as well? What other brands work? I'm new to the iPhone world and I don't really want to drop and damage an expensive phone.
- What's a Really Really good case for a iPhone? So I had to get a new iPhone 5 because the lock button broke & I had accidentally dumped coffee on it. So I had purchased a new one & I want to be VERY careful with it. Does anyone know of any really good cases to keep it safe? Price doesn't matter.
- What is the best protective Iphone case that still looks good? I might be getting an Iphone but I want a protective case (one that looks good and doesn't add much bulk). I'm kinda clumsy so something with shock protection but is still sleek and stylish. I'm looking at the incase proslider and the speck candyshell flip so if you could also tell me which of those is better that would be great.
- What is the best protective case for iPhone 5? I'm looking for a good iphone 5 case which will protect it from dust(especially the speaker at bottom), waterproof, shock proof and the screen protection. Please tell me a name of give a link to any of the above, would be best if it was all or at least dust and shock proof.
