Do Vizio TV remotes use infrared light?
I have a Vizio smart tv and for fun did the iPhone camera trick (iPhone cameras can pick up infrared light from tv remotes if the camera is pointed at the emitter on the remote and press a button). I then curiously looked at the emitter with my own eye and pressed a button and SAW A FAINT FLASH! This brought me to the inquisition of whether the remote emitters slip into the visible light spectrum a little, I can see a little infrared, or the remotes simply don't use infrared. Please let me know and thank you.
Yes, it uses an IR remote. Yes, the near IR used in TV remotes is sometimes visible. If you look at the CCTV cameras with IR night time illuminators, you will see a faint red glow from the IR diodes. It is harder to see them on in a TV remote because they are flashed on and off so quickly, where the CCTV illuminators are on constantly. There are 880 nm IR leds (probably most popular because CCTV cameras and some photo diodes respond better to this wavelength) and 940-950 nm Leds (not visible to humans, but still visible to cameras, but not as much as the 880 nm ones). Human vision is supposed to go from 390 to 750 nm, so the 880 nm leds probably do produce some 750 nm radiation since we can see it.
- Z-Wave Light Switch not working? I just purchased a few GE Z Wave Light Switches to control my basement lighting with my iPhone. I have three way switches, and they all work before, but as soon as I replace one of them for a Z-Wave switch, none of my switches work for me. I'm 100% sure I installed them correctly, and I even had an electrician come and take a look. What do I do?
- Screen on my iPhone is black and won't light up I dropped my iPhone but I have an otter box so it didn't crack. However, the screen is now black and won't light up. I can hear when I get texts and calls but i just can't see. Its happened before and the guy says it was just some connection problem. Any way i can fix this without having to take it in?
- Is there a super powerful infrared flashlight for consumers? I'm in 7th grade and I love playing manhunt, especially when I have an upper hand. I want to try to get an ultraviolet flashlight to use with my iPhone camera to basically get night vision. My price range is 25-50 dollars preferably.
- IPHONE, WIRELESS PRODUCTS, REMOTES? I'm wanted to take photos and videos with my phone but hate the idea of always having to be right there to take them. Are there any kinds of blue tooth remotes that would enable me to take photos and videos from a distance?
