Do you let other people read your messages on iPhone if so why?

I personally wouldn't like if someone knew everytime I read there messages because after I read them I don't suddently reply back then that person will think I'm avoiding them. How about you? I'm just interested in knowing

I don't have an iPhone, but on my cell phone I make sure I reply back usually within a few minutes… I always have my phone on me and rarely do you wait even 5 minutes for a response from me… Promptness is important… If someone walked up and asked me a question, or made a comment, or called me and said something to me I wouldn't ignore them and come back to them later to finish the talk… I would answer them right away or it would be rude… With the way phones notify you immediately of messages, and even each person can have their own text sound, there's really no reason not to respond quickly in some way… There are even quick messages programmed into your phone so you don't even have to do anything, just quickly choose the appropriate message and hit send… Sorry, but i think it's basically lazy if you don't answer quickly… There are instances where this is not the case, like if you are a nurse/doctor in a busy ER or during church service or something where using your phone could be considered rude… But out of the almost 170 hours in a week, if you sleep 8 hours a night that leaves 114 hours, and I would bet that 110 of those hours you would be capable of responding to a text within 5 minutes of hearing the alert… Even if it is just a "I'll get back with you later" or "I'm working, call you later" or something like that, then they atleast know you got the message and aren't ignoring them… So in short, yes i do usually let people know i saw their message and i think it's usually a case of laziness when you don't do so…

No, I have that option turned off.

Nope… I'm a grown up, there's no need to.
