Do you use a stylus with your phone when you type?

I have an iPhone 6 plus. I use my phone on the train a lot during my commute. I often note mistypes when I re-read what I wrote.

Does a stylus help?

I found a stylus helpful, but it's way slower.

I did own a stylus for my iPhone but it didn't work on it, personally I prefer just re-writing
