Does 7 eleven iphone chargers work for a long time?

My two iPod charger cords broke because one fell and broke on impact since it was fragile and my other broke because my rabbit chewed it. I go to 7 eleven every morning to buy food throughout my school day (eating helps me focus), and on the counter are different colored iphone chargers for 5.29 each. They look like this:

I was wondering if they work and do they last long. Please and than you.

No - they are from china and might/might not work. In general since USB isn't new/special technology, they should work though i wouldn't expect it to last more then a couple of months.

but at that price you could buy 5 and its still cheaper then buying a real OEM product.

HOWEVER, china products are known to fail and sometimes catch on fire.

I've personally had decent luck with them - they die, but i buy 5-10 at a time so always have extras.

My sister had a usb charger from china, it was smoking 6 months after she got it. Good thing she was in the car/noticed it.

  • Why do Iphone chargers (especially iphone 5) not last very long? I can never keep a charger more than a couple months without it breaking or ceasing functionality. It doesn't matter if I'm using the charger mostly in the office, in my car, at home, etc. Is this a scheme by manufacturers to keep charger revenue flowing or is this the universe's way of telling me I use my phone too much?

The charger that came with my phone would work until about march then I had 2 others chargers which both broke a week or two later. Then I ordered 2 more from the apple store and both broke at the same time in may. Should I get my phone checked out or is it the apple chargers? They all still look perfectly brand new. They not damage or torn up or anything. They just stop charging my phone!
